Edward Foley, Sr. (79) was born in Auburn, NY. He was attending Lemoyne College and living in Auburn before he enlisted. His military service lasted from 1951 to February 1955. During his service period, he went to Moonan, South Korea and was stationed at K-8 Moonson from July 1952 to April 1953. He served in the US Air Force as a Private and had transitioned to SSgt by the time of his discharge. During his time in the Korean War, Foley was an electronic technician servicing aircraft. In addition to being promoted to Staff Sergeant, he was offered tech sergeant and earned typical Korean War medals for his commitments. After returning to the United States, he finished his tour in the US Air Force in Bangoc. After being discharged from the military, he went to work for NY Telephone Company.
