Bruce Woodward

Bruce R. Woodward, Corporal, USMCR, was born on February 21, 1931 in Pasadena, California. On March 19, 1949, Woodward enlisted in the US Marine Corps Reserve, and graduated from Belmont High School, Los Angeles in that same year. In the summer of 1950, Woodward completed his first year of secondary education at the Los Angeles City College. In August, 1950, Woodward was activated to USMC, and sent to the Wonson Air Field in North Korea. While in North Korea, he was part of the Communist China Aggression Offensive until October of 1951. In November, 1951, Woodward returned to the US, and was discharged in February 1952. After his time of service, Woodward owned a newspaper dealership in Downtown Los Angeles from 1952-57. From 1958-1961, Woodward ran the “Baseball Farm Clubs” for the LA Dodgers in Omaha, Nebraska and in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At the same time, from 1957-62, Woodward was an insurance salesman for the Combined Insurance Company of America, Chicago, Illinois. Since 1962, Woodward has either owned a business or had investment income.
