Luther Dappen (82) was born in Burke, SD. He was helping his father on the farm before he enlisted at Sioux City, IA. He arrived at Inchon in 1950, and was stationed north of Seoul in the 25th Rec. Company, 25th Infantry Division as a Corporal. For his commitments, he received 3 battle stars. After returning to United States in September 1951, he helped on the farm and worked at Igloo in South Dakota. He was released to the Reserve, and when the GI Bill was passed, he enrolled in college. Among the friends whom he recalls are Calhoun, Sgt. Head, and Leroy Hawley. Now, his hobbies include golf, and he belongs to KWVA Chapter 194.
