Robert Duffy (80) was born in Shickshinny, PA. He worked as a drycleaner in Syracuse, NY before enlisting in the military. His military service lasted from August 1949 to November 1952. During his service period, Duffy went to Inchon, Korea, where he was stationed from September 1950 to October 1951. He served as a 1st Air Delivery Pilot and in the F Company, 2nd Battalion, 7th Regiment Marines as a Private First Class, transitioning to Corporal before his military discharge. He was a cargo handler in 1st Air Delivery and squad leader rifle pilot. He participated in the Inchon Seoul Campaign, Hongnam Chosin Campaign, and South Central Campaign. For his commitments during the war, Duffy received 1 Air Medal, Presidential Unit Citation with 1 star, Korean Service Medal with 4 stars, and UN Ribbon. After returning to the United States, he served in a guard unit at Barstow Supply Depot in California. He did factory work, was a presser at a drycleaners, went to funeral director school, and became the owner of a dry cleaning shop.
