William Burns (79) was born in Auburn, NY. He was attending college when he decided to enlist in the military. His military service lasted from 1952 to 1954. During his service period, he went to Inchon and was stationed at the Iron Triangle Chorwon Valley from January 1953 to December 1953. He served in the Second Infantry Division as a Private, and transitioned to Sergeant before his discharge. He was an Infantry Scout, and Aerial Observer. He received multiple awards for his commitments, including a CIB, Commendation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and Air Medal. After returning to the United States, he was a cadre-instructor at Fort Dix, NJ. After being discharged from the military, he became a state trooper.
