John J. Kronenberger (81) was born in Scranton, PA., and had been working there for the Sears Roebuck’s Company until he had been enlisted on November 19, 1952. He arrived in Pusan in September 1953 and was stationed there as a part of the Army, 24th infantry division. His rank was a SGT, and his specialty was the signaling company. He received the National Defense, Korean Service, UN Service, and Good Conduct Medal for his commitments. He says he remembers friends Joe Heliey, Ted Brooks, and Bill Bubar. He left Korea on September 30, 1954, and was discharged a month later. He was re-employed at the Sears Roebuck Company after his discharge. His hobbies now include golf, woodworking, and fishing.
