Ollie T. Thompson (82) was born in Fauquier Co., VA. He enlisted on January 18, 1951 and arrived in Incheon on December 1 of the same year. He was stationed in Chorwon Valley as a part of the 89th Field artillery, 45th infantry division as a CPL. His specialty was in field artillery, and he received the National Defense, Good Conduct, Korean Service, Japanese Occupation, and UN Service medals for his commitments. He remembers friends Donald Cokely, Virgil Silvers, and Jack Rigsey. He departed from Korea in September of 1952, and was discharged a month later on October 21. Ollie got married and went to work for Paul Meuon after his discharge, and currently enjoys water baseball as one of his hobbies.
