Richard Perry (78) was born in Jamaica, NY and had been in high school when he enlisted. He arrived in Sasabo in December, 1953, and was stationed in Norfolk, VA as a part of the US Navy as a corpsman. He was a health hospital corpsman medic, and received the Korean medal for his commitments. Richard remembers his friends Jake and George, who were brothers, as well as Red and Ron. He returned from Korea and was discharged on August 11, 1954. After leaving the military, he looked for a college and worked in sales stores, as well as door to door. He now enjoys watching TV, especially games involving the NY Yankees and NY Giants, and reading biographies.
